Single Session/Drop In Therapy
When time permits, some of our associates are available for last minute, single session drop in appointments. Drop in sessions are pragmatic, solution oriented interventions that are evidence based. They work best for those who are able to take some behavioural action. They reduce barriers and can be helpful whether you seek support just one time, occasionally, or are needing help while waiting for an ongoing therapist. The therapist will ask you questions to determine the best use of time, focused on how you are coping and help you to tap into your existing resources and strengths. These are time sensitive, collaborative approaches addressing here and now issues and helping you set and move towards reasonable goals. There is no guarantee that the same therapist will be available on an ongoing basis but you can use a drop in session more than once. The majority of people who use drop in, single session therapy are satisfied with the help after one appointment. Please note that a credit card must be uploaded in order to book a session since there is often not much time for administrative help to make arrangements. The therapists will show their availability for drop in sessions on our schedule tagged as drop in sessions at psychotherapy.janeapp.com.
You can review the description of the therapists on our team page.
