Hi. I am Ella. My education includes a Masters in Counselling Psychology, a Certificate in Addiction Studies and additional courses and supervision in psychodynamic psychotherapies and assessment of adult attachment styles for relationship healing. As a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario, I have verified qualifications of my formal training. I've got professional experience and particular interest in the areas of addiction, family of origin issues, attachment and eating disorders. Curiosity, acceptance and hope guide my work. I am open minded and honest, real and friendly. I works with individuals and couples and tend to go deep and longer term since I believe that early learning impacts development in significant ways.
My experience includes two years practicing at one of Canada’s leading addiction treatment facilities and a lot of life before that! I strive to create an environment that is warm and optimistic to explore issues with honesty, with humor and with courage. Consistent with the Creative Transitions brand, I am warm and open about who I am, practicing safe and effective use of the therapist "Self". I offer a free short consult to determine suitability and have some in-person availability downtown.
