Alexa Haslecker, Registered Psychotherapist
M.B.A., Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Welcome! I’m Alexa Haslecker (she/her), a therapist at Creative Transitions Psychotherapy where I completed an eight month internship while doing my Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology.
Are there any thoughts, feelings, or experiences that have been on your mind, and you haven't found the right moment or person to talk to about them? Sometimes we hesitate to put feelings into words because we fear what the other person might say or think of us. At the same time, talking about challenging experiences is one of the best ways to process them, and an outside perspective can help you put things into place and find new meanings. I would be honoured to be one who will provide you with a safe, empowering, and welcoming space to figure things out! |
ToIn working together, we will define your goals and expectations, identify your patterns, obstacles, and strengths, and assess ways for you to be your true self living a healthier, more balanced and fulfilling life. As someone who has lived in different places and cultures, such as Brazil, the United States and Canada, I understand the different experiences people go through that make them who they are. Finally, like most things in life, therapy is not easy, but it is a process from which you will continue to benefit long after it concludes.
You will find that I utilize different therapeutic modalities depending on your specific needs; these include evidence-based Cognitive and Behavioural Theory or Solution-Focused Theory, alongside an inclusive, culturally responsive and socially just framework. My academic training is from Yorkville University with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. In addition, I possess an MBA in Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor's in Public Relations. I am a member in the qualifying category of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. As well I am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I will be supervised periodically by professionals approved by the College of Registered Psychotherapists and by Shirley Katz, Ph.D., as is the requirement for new licensees. I am currently accepting new clients to start in fall of 2022 and would love to learn more about you! If you think we would be a good match, please reach out at 647-244-3050, or book a time with me for an intake on the link below. If you do not see a spot you want please email [email protected] and the Clinic Director will find you a spot. To see a list of recent additional trainings I completed please see below:
