Chantel Simm, MACP, RP, RYT-700As a multiracial individual, I understand that life and issues people bring to therapy can be multifaceted and never as simple as they seem to others. My cultural heritage, my therapy training, and my work as a yoga teacher enable me to consider the complexities of my clients' lives and experiences while incorporating mindfulness and body awareness into the healing process when appropriate. I have special interests, training and experience to work with trauma, neurodivergence, and challenging behaviors in children, teens and adults.

Approach |
With compassion and an understanding of systemic issues, I help clients uncover and change emotional, cognitive and behavioral patterns keeping them stuck. I may challenge clients to become aware of unhelpful beliefs or behaviors, or felt reactions in their bodies, to facilitate healthy changes in their lives or for their children. Whether clients wish to delve deep into the roots of patterns or if they are ready to jump into making change, I collaborate and guide them to create and sustain meaningful transformation.
I primarily use a holistic, collaborative, trauma-informed and client-centered approach to support clients in setting and moving towards therapy goals. I prioritize unique experiences, values, and needs and create a safe and empathetic space for clients to openly share and explore thoughts and feelings. I tailor my therapeutic interventions to each persons goals and pacing, ensuring that the work respects autonomy and builds on client strengths and resources. The aim is to empower clients to heal from past wounds, better navigate life's challenges, and sustain a greater sense of well-being. At times, I may incorporate cognitive methods, psycho-education and skills based or behavioral approaches, mindfulness or somatic/body awareness, bilateral stimulation, parts work and other methods to help clients meet their goals. I have training in and utilize various therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Working with children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Skills Training (EFST) and Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT). I also ran workshops for parents supporting neuro-divergent or behaviorally challenged children. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to determine fit.
