E-MAIL USE
RISK OF USING E-MAIL
Creative Transitions offers clients, potential clients, and others the opportunity to communicate by e-mail. Transmitting information by e-mail, however, has a number of risks that should be considered:
a. E-mail can be circulated, forwarded, and stored in numerous files.
b. E-mail can be immediately broadcast worldwide and be received by many intended and unintended recipients.
c. E-mail senders can easily misaddress an e-mail.
d. E-mail can be falsified.
e. Backup copies of e-mail may exist after a sender or recipient has deleted their copy.
f. Employers and on-line services have a right to store and inspect e-mails transmitted through their systems.
g. E-mail can be intercepted, altered, forwarded, or used without authorization or detection.
h. E-mail can be used to introduce viruses into computer systems.
i. E-mail can be used as evidence in court.
2. CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF E-MAIL
Because of the risks outlined we cannot guarantee the security and confidentiality of e-mail communication and will not be liable for improper use and/or disclosure of confidential that is not caused by our misconduct. Clients should be aware of the use of e-mail and the risks.
Consent to the use of e-mail includes agreement with the following:
a. E-mail to or from the client concerning treatment will be printed out and made part of the client's record/file and subject to the rules of confidentiality with the same exceptions that clients are made aware of at their first session.
b. Although we try to read and respond promptly to e-mail we cannot guarantee that any particular e-mail will be read and responded to within any particular period of time. Thus, PLEASE DO NOT USE E-MAIL FOR EMERGENCIES or time sensitive matters such as cancellation of appointments.
c. Do not use e-mail for sensitive information
d. Do not abuse email or your address may be blocked from sending messages to this site.
