INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIESPracticum is available to mature students and second career professionals. Particularly interested in people who have an arts background, who identify or are allied with LGBT2SQ++ and who are themselves from non-dominant cultures or have experience with immigration. My practice tends to serve people with interests and achievement in the arts, academia and executives so a good fit is important.
With 25 years of experience in therapy, teaching and as a supervisor, Shirley Provides 1-1 supervision, professional mentorship and constant support to her students. As a practicum student you will have opportunity and access to observation, shadowing, co-facilitation, group creation and facilitation, participation in group and one to one or dyad supervision. You should expect to provide a few hours per week of agreed upon administrative support in order to learn about running a private practice. Initially you will get about 5 to 7 hours of support per week which will taper off as your case load grows. The aim of this practicum is to lead to part time subcontract status after the training is over. The practice currently takes on 2 students at a time, for a January start. May start is also in the works for 2023. Please do not submit a description of what Yorkville expects as Shirley is already a supervisor for Yorkville students. Send a resume and cover letter outlining specifically why you think you would be a good fit. Thank you! |
